vanishing download box

I am using vista and have a problem with downloading my attachments to my mail received

everytime i come to download attachments the download file box (top corner left) opens showing download activity then disappears leaving me no clue as to where to find the files but it tells me on my email page the file has finished loading it didnt used to do this it used to stay on screen for me to click on file in the box at left corner of page

please can you help this is so frustrating try to find downloads on every occasion

Hm... there should be an option: "close this dialog box when downloads complete"

If that box is ticked, untick it...

Really need more help here - it's quite possibly not the email website but your browser, but I need to know which one you're using - I assume it is IE, but I don't know and I need to know.

I was asking about downloading from other sites, as in not your email.

So, if I understand you correctly, attachments in Yahoo mail will not download, and it just disappears, but if you download them to your desktop they download fine?

Anything else you can tell me? I hate having to ask every single question out there - what have you one to try to prevent this from happening? Where is it trying to download to when it disappears really quickly? have you tried downloading from anything outside of your mail (like a codec package, an updated driver, an updated BIOS, *anything*?

one line answers are not gonna help us fix the problem - we need you to be our eyes and ears, so we need interactivity.

Help us help you - post a picture, do some troubleshooting, give us specifics on when it does and does not happen, how you can make the problem occur, how you can avoid it, etc.

Remember, I cannot come visit you and take a look at what is going on - so you need to walk me through it.
