Vista - Vista 64 very slow browsing

I've just formatted (twice now cause I thought maybe there was wrong with the first installation) my Vista 32 SP1 PC and put 64 on, did all the latest updates. Everything works great except my memory usages is always very high.


My main problem that I need help for is that my internet speed is playing up real bad. I can browse and do what I want at normal speeds but as soon as I start downloading anything my internet slows down to an unbearable pace, web pages take so long to open that I have to cancel my download

Before anything can be said or suggested, we simply need more information - your system specifications, what programs you have running, what browser you use, what security software you use, any tweaks you have performed on your system, and if all your devices have signed drivers (and the latest ones at that) in x64.

All drivers are updated and 64 bit, checked before installing. Not all are signed, 1 0r 2 weren't but I can't remember which lol

I am using Comodo Firewall - latest 64 bit version

I use Firefox, have tried v3 and 2.16, tried with IE as well

Security Center includind Defender

used this line to turn of DEP
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff

have tried a couple cmd line tweaks since I noticed the problem that I have found on other Vista forums to no avail.

Have you tried uninstalling Comodo?

No I haven't uninstalled Comodo, thought about it but haven't found a suitable replacement

What sort of Internet connection have you, in that it looks like it is a simple case that when you are downloading stuff, there is no bandwidth left to surf the web.
