How do I keep the current window on top as new one loads?

Okay I'm sure other people have had this problem also if they are constantly opening new windows while trying to work in the current one. It finally pissed me off to the point of posting for an answer to this problem.

First of all I hate tabbed browsing cuz I like the benefits that come with just opening a new window to browse in- alt+tabbing, being able to use them side by side or whatever else. But anyways so I'll be browsing online in one window, maybe filling out some form and then for whatever reason I'll need to open a second window so I'll open it and quickly click back into the window I was filling stuff out in, but the new window that I opened will pop up on top of the current window I'm using (filling out a form in) after it's done loading, causing me to have to minimize it/click back into the window I was using.

Sometimes I'll only have to click on the current window once to stay in it when the new window loads, but other times I'll have to click maybe 3 times because the stupid new window hasn't finished loading and keeps popping up on top of the current one I'm using.

Well, hope that gives you guys a good understanding of my problem- any help or even sympathy will be appreciated if you understand my issue, lol.

Sorry, but I'm not quite getting what the problem is? You "hate tabbed browsing", but, in essence, that's exactly what you're doing... or am I missing something?

Your "problem", it seems, is only where you direct the mouse?

I know I'm not getting it all, so perhaps further clarification is in order?

Hi Matt,

Just goto Tools> Internet Options > General Tab then look for Tabs and click Settings, The third tickbox from the top "Always Switch to New Tabs" is the one you need to disable to change the Swtich to New tab setting.

Dont bump posts.

Okay, what I'm talking about has nothing to do with tabbed browsing. What I'm talking about is when, for example, you open a web page with a lot of objects (ads, pics, etc..) that have to load, they start loading as you open the page right? Well then after you open that first page, lets say you open another one- NOT A TAB- a completely new IE window- and that new page has a lot of objects that have to load too, well what i get that keeps happening is that while I'm viewing the new page that I've jsut opened, the original (first) one that I opened, as it finishes loading all the objects pops back up in front of the second window I had opened that I am currently viewing.
It's a simple problem to replicate really- I get it with my homepage, google news all the time. I think if you try to open 2 separate NON-TABBED pages of goggle news you might get the problem. Open one page, then immediately open the other and the first one you had opened should pop right back on top. It's had to beleive no one else has had this problem.

Hi,
This reply is late but hopefully it will help. I know your probem exactly, and the best way I have found to keep the current window on top is a freeware app called DeskPins. When installed, it puts a push pin icon on the tray. When you click on the icon, and the the window you want to stay on top, it will put a red push pin on the top of the window and keep that window on top until you minimize it or click on the red pin to remove it.
You can check it out and download it here.
DeskPins Freeware download and review - keep any window on top from SnapFiles
Snapfiles certifies their downloads to be free of malware.
Hope this helps.
