Downloading stuff but it disappears

Hey Guys!!!!

New Problem!!!!

When I try to download something... It downloads...but then I can't find the file... I save them to desktop and they just disappear...When I search for them it says it can't find the file? Anybody know what might be the problem?

I use IE and Opera... It happens with both of them.

Have you tried just saving them to just the C drive

I tried all that... They just disappear... Its like they dont even exist.

Hi,

You could try typing the name of the app. you just downloaded into the Start Search box. (After checking start menu properties > customise and ensure search options are set )

Or you might try:

Download and install google Chrome browser. Let it transfer settings from your other browser as is.

Use chrome to download an app. from the net. Chrome's download window is bottom left - when complete, right click this and select Open File Location - that will take you to where it is.

NEVER save things to desktop!!

Save them to Documents!

ok, if ur using ie8 this is a known problem. In any case, try creating another user account & see if it happens then.

IE8 has a bug where it wont fully download files so they dont appear.
