E-mails are downloading blank

I'm having a BLANK EMAIL problem with my Toshiba Satellite A135-S4417 Laptop with Vista Home 32 bit. I have my PC with XP also connected to my Embarqmail website that receives email just fine, but the laptop doesn't. Sometimes, almost daily, many of my emails download blank, no sender, no subject, nothing in the body of the email, just the time it was downloaded. I know they are supposed to be legitimate emails because I have downloaded them on my PC. I have it set up so the emails stay in the Webmail after they've been downloaded so I can pick them up later on my laptop.

I've called Embarq and have searched online with Toshiba and now I'm here, with no success so far. I know a little about computers and can follow directions, but I'm not a whiz. Can anyone help me as I don't want to miss emails when I travel with my laptop.

Re: joann

Try duplicating the email account settings from Outlook Express on the XP machine.

Also, another tip: To increase the likelihood of getting a response to a post, you should create a title to the post that is relevant to the subject, which in this case would be something like "E-mails are downloading blank" or something like that.

In all honesty, the only reason why I saw your post was because I'm getting bored waiting for a download to get finished, and I'm just browsing the forums atm.

And welcome to the forums!

Re: joann

Thanks for the reply....Next time I'll know how to set up the question better. I have set up the accounts exactly the same on both computers...as close as I can get with XP vs Vista. I even removed the account on the laptop and reinstalled it thinking it was the installation. It had been working fine for at least a year and then 2 months ago it started with this blank message thing and seems to be getting worse. It started out with just a couple of emails a day and now it it up to 14 or so out of 25 are blank. I checked to see if the box under "tools" "options" that said "read in plain text" was checked and it was not and I checked to make sure the encoding was correct and it was. I really don't know where else to go except to take it to a "professional" and I'm not sure they will know what to do with it. Any Suggestions?

Thread title changed to something a little more relevant ;)

I assume your using windows mail as your email client, I would suggest swapping over to the superior windows live mail client and see if that solves your problem.

Thanks for the change of the Thread name...I couldn't figure out how to do that once I had it posted. As for the Windows Live mail....do I still download onto my computer the emails? Sometimes while I travel, I may be at a Library or other WIFI spot and download the emails and read them later when I have more time or is this like the WebMail box and everything is read while still online? I'll try anything if I can fix this problem...JoAnn
