Windows Mail very slow

    Windows Mail very slow

    Whenever I want compose, reply, or most other commands it takes over 60 seconds to respond.
    It says Windows Mail "not responding". It eventually does but it slows down my use considerably.
    This has been the case from the day I got the laptop.
    HP is unable to help me.

    Would you be able to tell me your laptops RAM, and CPU? (Just hit Winkey + Pause/Break, or right click Computer in the Start Menu and hit Properties)

    You might see if this may be able to help you with Windows Mail.

    However, you might give Windows Mail Live a try instead. It is much more stable and better in my opinion.

    System is AMD TL60 with 3 gig RAM
    Will I loose any history with Windows Live?
    Have others had this problem?

    No, you shouldn't lose anything.

    Windows Live Mail (WLM) will automatically import Windows Mail messages, accounts, and settings into it. Contacts will have to be manually imported from within WLM. (Tools, Contacts, File, Import, Address book for current Windows User.) To see the Menu bar, press ALT+M and check "Show all menus". To make WLM the default email program, click on Tools, Options, and both Make Default buttons in WLM.

    You can even continue to use Windows Mail afterwards with WLM if you like.
