'the default mail client is not installed properly'

I am unable to send e-mail to anyone with an address on a webpage; every time I try, I get the annoying prompt that 'the default mail client is not installed properly'.

Someone please help me! Many thanks

Re: 'the default mail client is not installed properly'

I tried to set Windows Mail as my default in Internet Options for Internet Explorer, but it disappears again when I click on OK

Have you set-up Windows Mail to have an account or did you just select it from IE options? You need to open Windows Mail, go to accounts and ADD an existing email account of yours so that Windows Mail manages your emails. If you do that, and you are able to send/receive from within Windows Mail, it should work.

Re: 'the default mail client is not installed properly'

Thanks for your reply. I am able to send/receive from within Windows Mail just fine; it's when I say try and e-mail someone to an address on their website by clicking on their e-mail address there that I get that prompt no matter what I do
