Unable to download

Just recently I have been unable to download anything. I dont get an error or anything, it just acts like it is downloading but when its done there is no icon for me to click on. I have tried downloading to my desktop, making a folder and downloading it in there nothing works. And its not one thing in specific, I am unable to download anything at all. I thought it could be an IE problem so I tried downloading Firefox to see if that would work but I cant download that either. Hitting "run" does the same thing, the dialog box appears and it acts as if it is completing but then nothing happens it just dissappears.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks :D

I tried cleaning up the temp files and resetting IE but I still cant download anything. I also tried starting a new account on my computer and gave it admin rights and it does the same thing to the other account.

So after looking through the forums and the net for answers and trying everything suggested I have still not been able to fix the problem. BUT I did do a computer a search and under advanced options I checked the box that said "include non-indexed, hidden, and system files (might be slow) and voila I found the downloaded file under C:\Users\WoW\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\TemporaryInternetFiles\Content.IE5\I0PU1ZCB. Now "WoW" is the name of the other account I opened so im completely baffled why it got saved under that account and in this random spot but it works for now so yay.

I once had this issue, and my antivirus was responsible for stopping the copy from temp to my download location...

Which AV are you using? Try to disable it and try downloading to see if this is the case

My AVG was turned off like I had said and when I tried to turn it on again it was acting weird so I just uninstalled and reinstalled it (AVG anti- virus that is) and now I'm able to download just fine. I think because I did not have any anti-virus protection the computer did a self-protection thing and would not let me download. Well it did download them but left them all in the temp folder. Anyways, that was my solution.

Glad you figured it out Rachel1986.
