Explorer stop working when browsing pics

Every time I try to upload a picture to, for example, facebook, or I try to attach a picture from my pictures file to an email, I start browsing, get to my pictures, and three seconds later, Internet Explorer stops working, telling me it has encountered a problem (it never tells me what) and then restarts. I have lost entire emails this way, plus I can never browse my pictures when I am online! It might happen to other documents (like Word) as well, I have never tried. What can I do?
Thank you!

hi csutton72

I think ur using vista, if its right then follow these steps,
Right click on my computer and go to properties in left pane u could see the advanced system settings click that advanced system settings in the menu under performance area click settings click data execution prevention tab then click turn on DEP for all programs and services except those i select. Now brouse to c:\program file\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe click ok. restart ur computer.

Thank you, but that did not work unfortunately. I wonder if I should un- and re-install Explorer... Don't even know how to do that though, I am so computer-illiterate! I am frustrated about my inability to attach pics to emails, which should be a given that I can do that. So I will keep going until I find the asnwer!

hi csutton, you can try resetting IE 7 web settings by clicking on typing inetcpl.cpl in start search box and it will open internet options. go to advanced tab and click the reset button and then restart your computer. Also, uncheck Enable 3rd Party Browser Extension.;)
