I am using dialup. I am in a rural area and it seems my only alternative is carrier pigeons. It sucks, all the nearby towns have high speed. One of my uncles in Pittsburgh has FIOS.
Get a Netzero disc. AOL should be classified as a virus. haha I am just kidding. Use whatever you want but NetZero is a great alternative and runs great on Vista x64.

I would like to see a dialup service that doesn't install a ton of crap. I want to just plug in an ethernet cable or phone line. I do not like anything proprietary such as AOL software.
That's why I would try Netzero. I used it for about a year. You can get a disc at Walmart or Best Buy and it's just the internet. Not a bunch of crap. 9.95 per month. Not bad for dial-up. I used it for about 2 weeks on Vista x64 and had no issues.
Then I just start the AOL software after that? or could I just use internet explorer? I am not yet running 64 bit vista because I don't want to get it installed only to find out my ducks weren't in a row. I just want the full advantages of 64 bits. I have a 2.0 Ghz dual core athlon QL-62. it is like a Turion but 10 watts less power.
I don't really need the AOL software at all? I like that. I could just get my mail from AOL.com instead. It seems to me thier software is just a nice looking mail organizer. I am the kind of person who would just install Linux if I knew anything about it. Then MSFT and AOL can kiss my goodbye!
