Hi Guys

Can someone please help me PLEASE ? I have been posting messages on a particular forum for years but since I have had Windows Vista on my computer I can post a message somedays and not others. For some reason I have to press 'POST MESSAGE' several times before it will open the message session

I thought at 1st it may have been the forum itself but went in there today and used my laptoop with Windows XP and was able to leave a message staight away.

Is there something I need to do to my computer to allow me into forums?

Hi Pops,

As we are not the forum in question, I don't think that we can help you directly. However, check your IE settings and reset them to their defaults - see: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/114310-internet-explorer-reset.html You may also need to check the other links as well.

If that doesn't help, then I would suggest that you contact the administrator(s) of the forum in question to see if they can come up with anything. It is possible that it is a coding error at their end or that the forum interface is not fully IE7 compliant - the default browser in Vista is IE7, whereas in XP it was IE6.

Hi Popeye, have you noticed if there any where in the web you click on that gives you a sluggish response besides posting a massage? Is there any missing items in a any page? Or is there slow response when you are not online? For the first two, first thing I would check is bad connectors on your cat5 cable. If the last is true, there could be anything which we need more info.

Hope this helps.

Hi Bruce

I have noticed this year when I go onto the American Idol Forum it IS very slow.

Its so frustrating because when I had XP I had no problems posting ..... to leave a message on the forum I have to press 'POST MESSAGE" many times before the message section opens yet other times it opens straight away aaaaggghhhh

I feel a little embarrssed as I wouldn't know, not very computer savvy mate

Pops

Never feel embarrassed about anything. There are no such things as dumb questions or stupid people here. We all know something that others don't and the sharing of information is what makes us all smarter. I think anyone who bashed any person for asking a question about needing help would be kicked out of here so fast and banned for life.
Some would say the only dumb question is the one not asked! I like to think of this place like a big team
