Sorry, I'm not quite sure if this is already a thread, I checked, but I could be wrong. As the title suggests, through Firefox, IE, and yes, even Opera has the same problem. On certain websites, when I type the address in, almost immediately, firefox gives me this message
Failed to Connect
The connection was refused when attempting to contact g.live.com.
Though the site seems valid, the browser was unable to establish a connection.
* Could the site be temporarily unavailable? Try again later.
* Are you unable to browse other sites? Check the computer's network connection.
* Is your computer or network protected by a firewall or proxy? Incorrect settings can interfere with Web browsing.
Similar messages come from Opera and IE.
One particular site, is http://www.g.live.com
I recently needed to go there to install the latest MSN messenger, and my connection was refused. I downloaded the program from that EXACT same site on a different computer, and it worked.
I then tried using the downloaded installer, to install on the computer I wanted. It will not install, because it thinks I have no internet connection. I have a connection, it just THINKS I don't because it relies on the refused site for a connection. I have also allowed firefox/ie/opera through my firewall, and I use no proxies.
The problem is definitely coming from my PC. Hands down. Any help?
