Can't send emails

    Can't send emails

    Starting yesterday I can no longer send emails. I recieve them just find but recieve this error message when I try to send:

    The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'Megan Fritz', Account: 'POP.charter.net', Server: 'SMTP.chartermi.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E

    I have search for an answer online and I have tried unchecking/checking the "my server requires authentication " box with no success. Any ideas?

    What are the Charter mail servers? (#11203)


    • •POP3: pop.charter.net
      •SMTP: smtp.charter.net
    Note: smtp.charter.net should be used for all Charter customers SMTP (outgoing), instead of smtp.chartermi.net for POP3 accounts. Email Settings and Web Sites - Charter Communications


    Be sure to double check your username and password also. the click "test Account".

    note-
    To provide further assistance I need to know what email client you are using (outlook express/live mail/Outlook 2003/outlook 2007, etc)
    and the area you are in for your charter service (city, state), or you can just contact Charter @ 1-888-438-2427

    Thank you so much!! I changed the outgoing from smtp.chatermi.net to smtp.charter.net and that solved it! I don't really understand why that changed...it's been "chartermi" since day one. Thanks again!
