Hotmail allows pop3 ???????????????

I have tried to do this in outlook and windows live mail.
I must be missing something.
Does this mean I can access hotmail from outlook or will hotmail allow me to access gmail, verizon,etc ???

It means that you should be able to use outlook or any other POP aware client to retrieve you Hotmail email.

Enter the parameters in the article you quote into the account details in Outlook and it should work. - I have my Live mail collected in Thunderbird so can confirm that the system is live and working.

I think it works, I no longer get an error.

with hotmail you have to type the whole email address as your sign on ID

Yes that's a little Quirk of the whole Live ID system :D

There's even a plugin for Outlook 2003 & 2007 - http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA102225181033.aspx. I don't use hotmail, but this might make me give it a look.

Any issues with that one under Vista? Just curious?

office 2002( XP ) does not keep the passwords stored. Known issue but M$ won't fix due to no support. Last support is 2003v.
