    Vista mail problem

I have 2 questions. 1- I put my charter.net email into Vista mail works great but now I can only get my email by going through vista mail. If I go to charter.net It says NO MESSAGES, but there are because I can get them when I go into vista mail.

Also I got an email from a trusted sender and Vista mail pt it throug to spam and said it could have been phishing, I am 100% it was not. I right clicked on the email and put it in trusted sender. Why didVista mail do that

Finally I hate how when I go into vista ,mail even if I right click on an email It will open it (so say I right click on a spam email to delete it, vista mail will open it???

How do I fix these things?

    Re: Vista mail problem

Hello GreatNate, and welcome to Vista Forums.

In Windows Mail, click on Tools, Accounts, select your email account, click on Properties, click on the Advanced tab, check the "Leave a copy of messages on server" box, select when you want them removed from the server, and click OK to apply.

The phishing filter in Windows Mail security settings will override even the safe sender list. The only way to prevent this is would be to turn off the phishing filter.

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

    Re: Vista mail problem

Technically Windows Mail does not automatically open the email. When you select a message it only displays it in the preview pane. To actually open it, you would need to double click on the message instead, or right click and click on Open.

If you wanted to get rid of the preview pane, then click on View, Layout, and uncheck the preview pane option.

    Re: Vista mail problem

Correct. As long as you do not open the email or any attachment, but you should have a good antivirus program (ex: Avast) installed as well to help be extra safe.
