Firefox woes with Vista Forums...

I am using my IE 6 right now to post this as FF is giving me fits. Everytime I post, a message pops up telling me that my post is to short and I need to make it longer.

Well, all my post and replies are usually long winded :p so I don't think the message is well deserved. :D

The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 3 characters.

To my knowledge, I have not set anything new on my options, it did installed an update for NoScript but I doubt this will be a problem since I can post or reply on the other boards I visit.

Anyone else having this issue on FF?

No problems here. Also don't have/use NoScript. Maybe try disabling it and see if the problem goes away. If it does just whitelist the forum in the NoScript options (if you can).

This site is fully allowed on my NoScript, the only things I have not allow are:

Google-Analitycs.com... I have no idea what it does and I figure I don't need it

Googleapis.com... Frankly I had not seen this script before and I figured it it s new one?

Well, I have disable NoScript and it works... let's see what It does with it enable again.

Testing it again just to see why it won't reply...

I have just enabled the googleapis.com script to see if this solves the issue.

Well, it appears I was right and the googleapis.com is the culprit here.

Does anyone know what it does and why the site opted to allow it now?

Forum script use Google library for loading of some ajax stuff - always allow Google :)

http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/yui/2.6.0/build/yahoo-dom-event/yahoo-dom-event.js?v=380

http://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/yui/2.6.0/build/connection/connection-min.js?v=380

Many sites and scripts use Google to offload stuff so disable the blocking globally. Actually disable NoScript all together, horrible extension ;)

Say yes to YesScript instead https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/4922

JavaScript is not something to be feared. Firefox is the most secure browser, and any vulnerabilities found are patched within days. However, JavaScript is sometimes misused by sites. They can show obtrusive ads or try to limit built in browser functions such as the back button or the right-click menu. Poorly written scripts can also hog your system's resources.

YesScript provides a JavaScript blacklist, letting you specify which sites aren't allowed to run JavaScript. A single click on the status bar icon can put the current site on the blacklist or take it off.
If you then use Adblock Plus and Easylist + Easylists anti-tracking version you are safe from ads and tracking scripts - and have not crippled anything. Remember to whitelist sites you want to support.
