Hello, everyone. I need some help, and I need to resolve this or I might fail school. We recently just moved from an apartment to a house, and since the move my Gateway M-6318 (Realtek 8169 PCI, 8168, and 8101R PCIe Ethernet Network and Realtek USB Wireless LAN Driver built in) is not connecting to the internet. It was working fine when connected to an ethernet cable at the apartment, but wireless didn't work, but now at the house neither work! Cox has came down two times to fix this, but nothing. I have been playing around with it since the move, but no luck at all. It does not work wirelessly or wired. We have two laptops. One works and one doesn't.

Whenever it is wired it connects to an Unidentifed Network, but nothing else. The network and connection boxes are always blank and say, "Windows cannot find any networks or connections." Today I played around with the IPv4 Connectivity and it shows the computer as connected, but it will not go online. No IE, no Firefox, and no online games. I always get an error like "Firefox cannot find the file for ____" ect.

IPv4 Connectivity: Internet
IPv6 Connectivity: Limited

It also says that something called DHCP is not enabled, but I don't know how or where to enable that if that would be the solution, but many said to me that it is only for wireless networks.

Please help! If you need more information then I will respond and try giving it to you! If this doesn't start working then I will be in huge trouble. ): Thank you.

It is an 32 Bit Operating System, Windows Vista Home Premium SP1.

I'm not really good at computers, so I'm not sure. >_< But what I know about that is...

The modem is connected to our linksys which is connected to the wall (by a whole bunch of ethernet cables in it), so we should have internet access around the house by Cox, but it doesn't seem to work in any of the outlets. ):

What would you like to know, and how do I find it on the computer? :) I'll post anything you need to help me solve this. Thanks!

first thing i would do , is reset the router to factory defaults. then delete all network cards listed in device manager and restart the computer, so windows will reinstall their drivers.
how did you connect previously? cable? dial-up? DSL?
this will give some clue as to what settings might need changing.
i assume you have a wireless router connected to a cable modem?
if so, have you tried plugging the computer directly into the cable modem?
give us a list of all your networking devices by name and part number (such as router manufacturer and model)
