Vista - pop-up box internet explorer not working

hi, i keep getting a pop-up box saying that internet explorer has stopped working windows is searching for a solution,the problem is internet explorer is working fine. So i have been just canceling the box out,is there any suggestions to correct the box from popping up.thank you...patch41

what version of IE?

if it is not IE V8 try upgrading to it and see if that helps.

or you could just switch over to FireFox (more stable).

You might have a bad addon so try starting IE with no addons by going into the start menu of windows then all programs accessories and then into the system tools and click on internet explorer(no addons). If that doesn't work try resetting IE.

hi mansrm81,did like you said programs accessories and system tools and started removing add-ons that i did not need and it seems to have solved the problem. You will have to help me out with the next question as i am a novice,i would like to click the scales but i dont know where. can you clue me in and thanks for the advise....patch41 ps.i just found the scales in the upper right hand corner (i clicked)
