Vista - Very Slow YouTube, Audio Previews :( Help.

So like 2 weeks ago I bought a new computer, a Gateway DX2641-01m, and I never had Vista before so I'm having trouble.

Since like two days ago the youtube is very slow and things like audio previews from other sites too. I use FireFox and the browsing is ok fast and the download speeds are as expected fast, but the youtube thing upsets me because it takes like at least 5 minutes to load a 1 minute video.

For protection I use a temporary files Cleaner, AVG Free, Windows Firewall and Defender, nothing else. I suspect it's something related to Flash player or something, when I try to play the youtubes with Internet Explorer it tells me that I need to get the newer version of flash and it links me to the flash page to get it and IE ask me to install it and I guess it fails or something because nothing happens

you can tell if flash has installed because you can see the flash image on the website

go here Adobe Flash Player if you see a big flash image saying "flash on" then you have flash , if not theres something going wrong in the install process

Yes I think I do have the latest version of IE because I updated everything. And no, no flash, it asks me to install it and I say yes and and then I guess it fails because it ends up not installing apparently.

no mate if its displaying (however slowly) then you have flash player , it wouldnt work otherwise , im thinking it may an issue with some addon or prolem with firefox , the best way to find that out is too see if its better with any other browser

you could also try downloading and running Opera , see if its ok in that if you cant get IE working

stay away from gogle chrome though , its just a massive spyware excercise

no, it doesn't display, it doesn't say 'flash on' nor does it play youtube videos, on IE.

yes i know , im assuming as you say downloading is ok then the issue is related to firefox , what about trying Opera? or reinstall firefox

I tried opera yesterday it was as slow as firefox, so i uninstalled it, but I guess i'll try it again.
