Can't install IE8 on Vista x64 SP2

I downloaded Vista x64 SP2 (Build 6002) from MSDN.

I downloaded IE8 from MSDN, and the main Microsoft IE site, after specifying my OS.

Then ERROR: A message from the IE8 installer that it is not meant for my OS.

Attached are screencaps of the IE8 installer file properties, my Windows System information and the error message I get when running the IE8 installer.

Has anyone solved this?

Is your OS language ENU? (english (united states))
That might be the reason why it says it's incompatible.
Try downloading a multi-language installer for IE8 instead.

Ofcourse the natural solution would be to use firefox instead :rolleyes:

IE8 is faster than Firefox and I have both installed so I can verify this by actually comparing both. I have never understood why everyone says FF is faster because IE7 was still faster than FF back when I initially tried it.
