sending wordpad attachment

I sent myself a wordpad file attachment via another email address on my new Vista. It opened fine but what concerned me was that I was able to access the archive on the wordpad and literally get into all of my files via the email.

If I send the same wordpad file to a third party will they also be able to click on archive and view all my files?

This seems totally incredible.

thanks for any information and advice

If security is your concern ..Then you should convert them to pdf ..before send out.

Word pad's format is RTF ....:

All you need is a RTF to pdf converter ..."Google it" ...

I'm not sure what you mean by archive. Another person receiving your rtf file will not be able to view your email or local files (unless you make your local drive available on a network).

This phenomenon occurs only because it is all happening on the same system. Don't worry about it once it is sent to another system. Make the test with a friend.
