Windows update connectivity issues

Is there a list of Windows updates known to cause connectivity issues?

Right now all that will connect to the internet is IE. All other things such as Firefox, Opera, Poker Stars, LavaSoft, even Adobe Updates can't connect. I've actually had this problem a few months and just dealt with it. Almost positive it's an update issue, but can't restore far enough back to fix it. I believe this because I've had more recent updates that cause IE not to connect. If anyone has any other possible ideas as what it could be then please let me know.

I think your problem is unlikely to be caused by just an update..
What are you using to connect to the internet?[ router, wireless.]
What firewall & security progs are you using?
Have you had any virus or malware issues?
Did your computer come with a security program preinstalled? If so what?
Are your running SP1, SP2?
Troubleshooting connection problems can be a challenge because there are so many possible causes.
