parental controls stops internet working for all !!

Hi I was hoping someone could help out a bit with this problem I am having with my brand new desktop..

vista 64bit home premium - service pack 2 - internet explorer 8

I have set up myself as the administrator in user account and then I set up my 7 year old son as a standard user.

...every thing works as it should if loggged in as either user...

The problem begins as soon as I turn on the "Parental Control" in the "user contols" box in vista for my son.
I'm still logged in as myself (administrator) - open up internet explorer and it says
" internet explorer cannot display the web page " ....internet explorer refuses to work at all.
The network diagram shows it is still connected to the internet...
Restart and it still will not work
Log in as any user it still will not work
Delete my sons user account and it still will not work
The only way to make it work again is to use system restore and to go back to before I turned on "Parental Control"
I have done this several times now in trying to find what was stopping internet explorer...

It seems as soon as "Parental Control" is turned on it messers up internet explorer for good !!

I would like to use the internet restrictions for his account but this is giving me a big pain in the A*:zip:*

Automatically detect setting is not checked on any user log on at the moment but also I haven't turned parental control back on yet .Would turning it back on now add a tick to this box by itself ?

I had exactly the same problem with my new computer. I could ping any site but just cannot see them in a browser (IE, FireFox, ...). Finally a computer repair store told me how to solve it. First keep the parental controls on. Then go to command prompt, type "netsh winsock reset". After a reboot, I was able to surf the web with my browser. Hope this helps.
