Loss my Internet Connectivity!

Hi: And thanks for reading my post.

I have a Lenovo 3000 Notebook with both LAN and Wi-Fi adapters. I can no longer connect to the Internet, or should I say: "view Web pages." When attempting to connect with I.E. 8, it returns the following message: "I.E. cannot display this webpage."

If I use Firefox, I get the following: "Address not found." If I use the IP address of Google (64.233.167.99), I get "Connection Interrupted = The connection to the Server was reset while the page was loading."

I can ping any IP address without getting a time out. I can do "nslookup," and it gives me my DNS IP at Verizon.

When I perform a "tracert" using the 64.233.167.99 IP, it does 30 hops and returns. However, when I use "tracert google.com" I get: "Unable to resolve target system name google.com."

I flushed the DNS. I have changed the IP address. I have switched off the Wi-Fi. I just changed the DNS to another that Verizon uses, and get the same "cannot display the Webpage."

It sounds like a DNS problem if it cannot resolve the web page's name to an IP address. I just do not know what else to do.

Any help would be highly appreicated

two things to check here, first reset IE to default setting and see if that works. If Not reset router to default settings, push in reset button on back of router and hold for 20 to 30 seconds.

From the command prompt you can run:
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew

If that doesn't work, try downing the modem.

If that doesn't work, it could be a DNS issue - resolving the ip address.
You should contact your company and see if they have DNS addresses you can hard code.

copy the following into the picture I post.

DNS Server, IP Address, and the Default gateway. the subnet mask is always 255.255.255.0

Set the machine with those options from the command prompt info and see what happens
