    Slow loading websites

When I open the first website it takes 42 seconds. The second takes 20 no matter what order I open them.
If I close IE or Firefox and re-open the website it takes 32-40 seconds. The second takes 20.
When I open the first program it takes 9 seconds.

I do not have a lot of programs running, run my utilities regularly, use CCleaner daily. My hardrive has 50 of 150g used.

Is there a way to cut down the load time of the initial website?

What happens if you initially launch your browser to a blank web page?

I'm assuming your using IE8, I'm also assuming your using add-ons with both browsers. if my assumptions are correct the more add-ons you install the longer it will take to load up..

Can he use TrendMicro HijackThis as long as he has one of you pro guys to help him ?

One of the lightest and fast browsers is K-Meleon.It uses the same engine "Gecko" as Firefox but doesn't have much addons / plugins support. Its the only one I've really used other than Opera,IE,and Firefox.SeaMonkey and Flock are Gecko based and are supposed to be good and are closer to Firefox when it comes to addons / plugins.

Its been ages but I tried Maxthon and Avant. They are really light and fast Maxthon had more addon support.

I don't think HijackThis is necessary yet. K-meleon still needs to develop.

    KWN:

I am a little confused. When I click Start, then search, I don't have any option of "type"

Did you mean after "Search" to type "cmd"? I did that and found nothing in the search.

I did try Run, then cmd, then ping msn.com. The result of that was 4 packets sent, no packets received.

    Americano: 1 gig

Frostmourne: I am runnng late, but will post that list later. I have a couple of programs to tell me what starts, but can't find one that allows me to copy/paste into this reply.

Cruel Hoax: I use Firefox and rarely IE8. I will try with each one because I have no add-ons for IE8 and a lot for FF. I will post the results later.

Lemur: How do I launch a black page?

Sorry folks i don't want to be silly ,but i think "adkr" has a slow internet connection, or he has to "Delete Browsing History" in IE8 , and "Clean Recent History" in FF , or he has to disable the Add-ons the he don't use.
