Vista - restore deleted internet browser history

Hi people,can you help me,i'm trying to restore my internet browsing history, i think they are still in my laptop but i don't know how to go about it,
i'm on windows vista basic 64 i'll be thankfull for any help,

You could also use system restore to a prior date.

Hi and big thanks to lemur and stoneys-nutz for their help,problem did get solved by right click start button then explore,organize,folder and search options,then view,clickto show hidden files and folders uncheck hide extentions for known file types uncheck hide protected operating system files(recomended) it will say do you want to do this press yes then apply and ok.then download index.dat reader which is free and you get it back many thanks and my regards,LW

Hello. I deleted my internet explorer history by mistake. Could you recommend a download link for 'secura' - as apparently this could help restore deleted internet explorer history? Not sure where to find secura. Kind regards.

Have you tried system restore ?.
If that does not work, a look into the log files can let you recover deleted Internet history.
The 'index.dat' file in the Internet Explorer history, is the log file that stores all the information of the operations you have performed.
This is one of the best ways because, deleting the Internet history does not have any impact on this file.
You will have to download an index.dat reader to understand the file and get the information you want, (links in previous post).

I want to know if desktop search program (Google desktop search this software that i should install, does it means that google can enter into my computer and see my documents and family pictures? Can they change something in my computer or put things online?
