Outgoing Mail to slow

I keep getting message that SMTP server has not responded in 60 seconds. Would you like to wait another 60 seconds for server to respond.

I have to keep clicking for more time and then gradually e-mail is sent.

Incoming e-mail is okay.

Help--all suggestions are appreciated.

Could you give us a bit more information, is it a web based e-mail, an ISP based e-mail, what e-mail client are you using and can you fill in your system specs, it all helps, thanks.

Can you go to your ISP's home page and check that your Window mail is setup correctly to receive and send mail, or go here and see if your e-mail program is there and check the settings.

Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server Settings for Hotmail, Yahoo, Google GMail, AOL, MSN and more

If you accept incoming mail and then try to send mail is it the same ?.
Has it always done it ?.
Have you installed any software that would affect your e-mail ?
Is this on all mail or just large packets ?.
More questions than answers i know, lol.
