Cut and paste into IE issue

Please help

I found an old thread from June 2009 that describes the issue I am having
entitled-
Cut and Paste to Internet causes Error

The person states the exact issue (see below) I have now and the only suggestion to this thread did not help me-- the issue is still there
"trying to cut text from a MS Works Word Proccessor and paste it to a message board on the internet. When I right click to past, I get a message "Internet Explorer has Stopped Working and Must Restart" at which point my browser shuts and reopens"

Does anyone know how to fix this?
Thanks very much.

It sounds like the problem is with Internet Explorer, and not with Microsoft Works. It is easy enough to uninstall and reinstall IE to see if that solves the problem. You can go to Google ie8 uninstall - Google Search for much help with the process.

You can also call Microsoft for help, at no charge, regarding IE8 installation questions: US & CA Residents: 1-866-234-6020

I did the rest and the issue remained

How do I install IE 8? Just through the Microsoft website? Is this really necessary to fix this one small issue as my browser works great otherwise?

Will all my favourites in my current explorer be wiped out?

Thanks and hope yuou can provide further direction

Here's the link to the IE8 Home Page - and you can download IE8 from there: Internet Explorer 8: Home page and no, it won't wipe out any of your Favorites or other settings.
