Can't See IMAP Folders in Windows Mail

Have set up some new IMAP e-mail accounts in Windows Mail. They initially opened and downloaded content OK. But now ALL e-mail folders have "disappeared" from the Windows Mail screen - can't send or receive anything or see any previous e-mails or, indeed, anything other than one folder called "Folders" in bold followed by (25) - but nothing opens when I click on it.

If I go back into Tools/Accounts all the accounts are still there and all the setting seem fine.

    What am I doing wrong?

You really did not describe the situation in too much detail, but maybe I can guess.

Bring up your Windows Mail, in the top there is a tab called view.

I would click on that and check all applicable settings.

It would be my guess that something has changed or has been changed in that

    catagory.

If I had to guess, I would think it is in layout.

    Hope this works.

    Hi richc46,

Thanks for your comments. Apologies for lack of detail - had moved to another PC.

Have tried your suggestions but to no avail.

    Here's a bit more detail:
Set up new IMAP account using Tools/Accounts/New
Account opened OK - could see all the IMAP folders and e-mails in them on the PC
Didn't (so far as I'm aware) make any other changes to WM
Closed down Windows Mail and switched off PC (end of day)
When restarted PC & WM all that I could see in the left-hand pane was
    Local Folders
    Inbox (25)
Couldn't get anything else to open or see anything in the Inbox when I clicked on that.

That's it. That's all the detail I have.

The PC's internet connection is OK and I can get to the e-mail account directly via internet webmail and it's all there and working fine. And I can also access it OK from MS-Outlook on a different PC. So seems to be a Vista/WindowsMail configuration problem.

    Thanks again for your help.

    Try this go to view

    Go to show or hide

Make sure that show all is checked.

    Then report back
