Hello,

HELP! Having issues, ran AVG virus scan and Ad-ware checks, no fixes yet.

Issues:
1. the IE page will automatically scroll down by itself continuously, even after I page up or scroll up. Very annoying.

2. While typing on an IE page or email, the cursor will jump from the current position to the bottom of my page at any given moment. Very annoying.

Please let me know if you've seen this before and what I can do to stop it!

Thank you.

If you got to tool>internet options> advanced

Is use smooth scrolling checked?

Did you go to control panel>mouse and adjust the settings? Adjust pointer and button
speed. Check for speed under each tab.

Hi Richc46,

Yes, settings are good and have not been changed. My problem does not always occur immediately, or at all, but eventually it strikes.

Any other ideas? Virus issue?

Do you have a senstive touch pad; if yes adjust it. I have seen that problem, before too.

Do not think it is a virus.

Hhhmmm....don't htink that is it either. It seems to be an intelligent sort of problem, not a sensitivity issue.

Any other ideas?

Thanks again.:geek:

Type device manager in search bar. Once in device manager, look for yellow warnings that drivers may be corrupted etc.

As I said before, I do not think its a virus, but always good to be sure that one is not there. Make a virus scan.

If using a wireless mouse, check batteries.

Turn the touchpad sensivity to high, better yet disconnect it. If it still does not work ty the folliwng suggestions.

You touch pad may be dirty, use a small amount of ammonia-based window
cleaner on a clean cloth and gently clean the surface of the TouchPad . Having a clean TouchPad surface usually eliminates
erratic pointer movement.

The TouchPad driver may need to be updated. Download the appropriate
driver from the manufacturer's support site. .

Finally, try a different mouse.
