Scrambled Email in Winmail

I have a large number of folders, several thousand, that I use to keep student tests and forms for our free online Bible College.
A new problem has developed, starting October of 2009, which is now increasing in the number of folders affected.

The email tests and forms will come in with one Subject line but something totally unrelated in the body of the email.
Example: The Subject line will say "The Bible One Quiz Results" but the body will contain the test results for Salvation 5. And the file that is in the body is many times very repetative over several email submissions from my students.

This started out with one folder or sub-folder showing scrambled email in October of 2009. Now it is up to 7 or 8 folders and seems to be increasing in frequency.

When I try to move the folders to a neutral unaffected folder, many times they will not transfer over and then I get the message that the email cannot be found.

Even when I forward the email to myself and give it the true name of the test in the body, when it arrives it has a different test in the body than it had when I send it.

What can be done to correct this problem. These are educational files for online students and I cannot take the chance of loosing them and then have to have the students take the tests or resubmit the forms all over again.

Have I just reached the max for Winmail's ability or is there a corruption problem somewhere in the program?

I think that the only way to be sure is to test it yourself. You can transfer (export) from the file tab, to an external device. I think that a flash drive will be best.

Export all of you email. Then see how it works. If it still has a problem, unistall and install again. I would be very happy to assist you.

You can even try a different email client, while you have your email saved on the external device.

Rest assured that I will monitor this thread, and help you in every way that I can.

I think that if you go to file, top left, you can use the import, export feature.

You may want to look at windows easy transfer, you may be able to just transfer the mail.

When I changed OS, from Vista to Windows 7, I transferred everything to a flash drive, using export. Then transferred back using the import feature.

I already have multiple backups of all of my email.
The critical files have copies saved on two different servers at bluehost.com as well as multiple backups on my computer and an external hard drive. I take no chances on losing student's files.

My main concern is transferring the folder and filter systems to another email program.
I have thousands of folders and sub-folders and my many hundreds of filters automatically route tests to the individual student's Quiz Results file and their Course Sign In forms to their Attendance file. It would take me several weeks just to replace the folders and filters so the system would route information properly.

How do I transfer the folders and filters to a new email program? Would live mail do it for me or would I have to do it somehow manually?

I do appreciate your help and I know that my students all over the world would appreciate it also.

I would like to tell you go ahead, no problem, but unfortunately I have seen too many problems with transfers.

Windows Easy Transfer is suppose to transfer everything, except programs, and it worked perfectly for me, but since you are, rightfully so, concerned, I would be hesitant to give you a definitive yes.

May I suggest that you use the free back up program that I will provide. Back up the hard drive and then make the transfer. If things do not work the way you had hoped, you have the image that you just made, so that you can return to status quo.

Here is the link to Paragon, they offer a, free hard drive image software, so that you can return to where you started with little effort. You will need an external hard drive or another large capacity device to send the image.
