Can't insert picture in WM

After a bad patch in Vista security update forced me to have to re-load Vista, I cannot insert pictures in emails. Insert file is the only thing highlighted and pictures can only go as attachments.

How can I fix it to insert a picture?

Try with antivirus turned off. You ask for suggestions, but you are getting guesses. Hope to hit it right soon, for me and you.

Turned off Microsoft Security, applied the check, then removed the check but, still no luck.

Needless to say I am disappointed. Usually in situations like this Vista and 7 are the same. In any case, read this maybe it will give you an idea of an alternative method to insert pictures. I know, I do not use the method shown.
