Perhaps, you should look int Mitchells solution, first. He feels that he may be able to solve the problem. If that fails, you can follow my directive and turn off Windows Mail.

Oh Rich, none of us came to a solution, the guy came back with his results that the behaviour of windows mail was a glitch with world of warcraft.

It was just the OP said the eratic behavior of windows mail was related to his games and i remembered this thread.

The OP still needs to stop windows mail while he sorts his problem out as you have kindly guided him in how to go about this.

Sorry i had no intention of taking over this thread i just thought he may find some answers to the cause of this eratic behaviour within the link i provided :o

By disable, you mean uninstall, good. If not uninstall it. When that is done there are other email clients out there that we can try. You can always go back if you do not like them. Thunderbird and Eudora come to mind.

If you still get messages and it is unistalled. Try this.

I am confused. If you say that the email client is causing a pop up and you uninstall the client, how is the pop up still possible?

I do not think that it was uninstalled.

Hi,

Windows Mail is so built into Windows Vista that there is NO way of uninstalling it. It will not turn up in Add-Remove Programs, and nor will it turn up in Add-Remove Windows Components.

It is therefore not unreasonable that you failed to uninstall it! :)
