Windows mail restart after closing

I have an error with my Windows Mail. It is opening after closing again and again. I read in an old thread here and tried to delete my virus MacAffe and now have PC Tool spyware doctor only. It is also popping up a box that indicates the mail program checks for new mails every second - that was not here before.
I can´t work on my pc any more, because it is disturbing so much. When I write in a program, I am been taken back to the mail program all the time. Very disturbing and I have deleted some mails of that reason.
I wanted to change to another mail client and browser and download Opera, and then the problem startet also there. The little box checking for email is popping up and the email cient in Opera opens.
When I close the program, it reopen and says "The Windows Mail cannot open because it is already running.... etc" - and I can have 10-20 or more boxes like this.
I have uninstalled Opera again, and understand that the problem might be something else - anyone have a clue?

I am not quite sure, but maybe 2 months or more. Then I searched the web, and found a solution about McAffee virus program, which I just had installed. So I deleted this, and cleaned the computer with Uniblue RegistryBooster and Ccleaner, and it seemed to be ok. Suddenl it all started again - but this time I don´t know. I have not installed a new program, so it can´t be this.

Set up a system restore point and unistall the problem program, then try to reinstall again. I think that it is corrupted.

I am not sure about this. If it is windows mail causing the problem, then I loose all my mails when uninstall the program - and I don´t know how to do it either?
I am not quite sure that Windows Mail is the problem, since the same happened in opera mail.

OK, I understand your concern. Try this, in search type cmd, then do not hit enter, right click and run as administrator. Then in cmd type sfc /scannow. Lets see if that helps.

I have tried this, but it says Windows didn´t find anything. Before that I uninstalled Windows Live and now it seems very quiet on my computer, but I know more about that tomorrow.

Thanks for your help. The problem was still here this morning.
Have any idea what the little box that keep coming up in the right corner showing a picture of an email, and pop up every second. This box did not use to be there before this problem started.

There was no mark in the window for how often it should check for mail, so I put a mark in it now, and then it is checked every 30 minuts - but still this little window keep popping up every second. I have never seen this little window before, and I don´t have it on my other computer.

Run a thorough virus scan

Download and run this. Sounds more and more like malware.

I have searched for malware with this program. found 1, deleted, and searched again and found nothing. Still I have the problem. I have also Spyware doctor and CCleaner.
Closing down Windows mail, it starts again and the box showing that windows are searching for mail, pop up every second still.
I wonder, where to find a place to try to download just Windows mail once again?
But somehow since the same problem happened when I tried Opera, it doesn´t sound like it has something to do with Windows Mail either?
I have found that there are more people having the same problem when I tried to fins a solution, but I didn´t.

I should write an tell that I have downloaded a program for removing McAfee totally from my computer and after a restart my computer are ok. But then I just saw the little icon popping up again. But I have only seen it once for a very long time.
Now I will try to find a way to clean up all after uninstalling Norton from my computer.

My Computer

Be sure to go to the norton site and use the uninstall tool.

Just to mention this - I have done a recovery for my computer and the problem started at once after recovered.
I found this thread now - and hopefully this could be of help to any other with the same problem. But I don´t know yet.

I sure wish that there was a possibility to remove Vista Mail or to reinstall both the mail program and the Vista without have to recover the system totally.

I would have done it before, so I could have skipped the recovery process. I read some place else here that Windows Mail couldn´t be uninstalled because it was a part of Vista. I was looking all over to find a solucion for my problem.
It seems like the problem is gone, but I don´t know for sure. Was a bit more quiet after a couple of other things I did in the past, so it´s not easy to know.
But I can´t see the little window popping up on my right side to show that the program are looking for emails, and so long this is gone I think it is ok.
Cross my fingers.

If it comes back, I will help you to try and uninstall.

What keep coming up now is this window with this message: It is not possible to start Windows Mail because it is already running on your computer. Log off Windows and start Windows Mail again... etc..." I am translating from another language - I guess you already know I am not english.

And this was also something of the old problem - this box could pop up over 1000 times if I was not here.

And no-one has heard about this problem before?

I was so sure after doing the recovery that everything should be fine again. So know I really don´t know what to do. This problem is making my computer impossible to work with. And I have not installed any other programs so far - I thought that was the problem before, that one of my programs was conflicted with Windows mail.

Are there more options to disable in the program that can cause this probelm?
