Unable to launch Windows Mail

I'm trying to get Windows Mail to work and looking for some help if available.

Windows Mail does not show up in the start menu and does not show up as an available choice in the default programs. When I went looking for it I found a folder C:\Windows\Program Files\Windows Mail. There is an exe called WinMail.exe but its a hidden file. When I try double clicking on it, nothing appears to happen though it does start a process I can see in the Task Manager. I'm also unable to change permissions on the file.

I got a couple of registry entry updates from this forum but they did not help. I've tried running the System File Checker with no result.

If anybody has any ideas I would appreciate it. I'm running 32bit Win 7 Home Premium.

Welcome,

If you have Windows 7, it may be best that you use the appropriate Forum, this Forum is for Vista.

In any event, it would be my suggestion, that you download and use Windows Live Mail, it is the newest version of Windows Mail and it works great on Windows 7 (I have 7 and WLM).
