After opening a word doc in windows mail, I made adjustments and pressed the save icon. I closed the word doc and reopened it and noticed none of my changes took effect...did the file save somewhere else? There was no error message at all, so it appeared to save, but I can not locate any of my changes in the doc or cannot locate a new document elsewhere.

Whenever you "save" anything you should make note of two things.
1. Where did you save it? (name of folder in which saved)
2. What did you name it? (name of file you saved)
If you don't know those two basic things, how do you ever expect to find it?

Try thinking about the doucment that you saved. If it had a unique title or there were some unique words in the body, type that information in search, by the start button. If the document is saved, you will be given the location.

Did you try opening up Word and seeing if it's in the list of documents, if it was sent via email it would come as an attachment and would open with Word.
