Get FEBE AddOn that backs up all your AddOns.

Besides, when you uninstall if it asks you to remove all settings just click NO.
But it's a good idea to have FEBE anyway. How many AddOns do you have?

Do you have the installer for 3.6.2?
When I try a higher version I make sure to have the installer for the current one in case I have to back it off. I uninstall/ reinstall and all the AddOns are still there. Just don't delete your profile.

otoh now I'm mainly using SRWare Iron. It's lightning fast off the HD and I only need 2 extensions to do 98% of what I can do with Firefox using about 15 AddOns. It's lean and fast. The main thing I can do why I need to keep Firefox is Secure Login lets me log into servers where I have more than one account. That's about the only weakness(and I just launch FF when I have to go to that site.)

LOL it could be one of those add-ons that's causing Firefox to start so slowly (probably not a Theme but an Extension or Plug-In could very well be causing your browser to slow down).

An add-on installed before you upgraded may be running your processor or registry through some kind of overly circuitous code route. The thing with those add-ons is, they're nice, but some of them are not the most tested pieces of software around, ya know?

Go into your Add-Ons and disable the first one, close and reopen Firefox to see if it's back to normal speed. If not, re-enable it and move on to the next one, disabling that one and then shut Firefox down and reopen it and see if it's back to normal speed. And so on and so on...

Your homepage could have some faulty script code on it, too; that always hangs a browser, even Firefox.

What's 3.6.3 have that 3.6.2 doesn't? It's faster just to uninstall.
Maybe the incompatibility is something he wants to keep using.

Manually updating all the add-ons would be the next most convenient thing to do, then. If that doesn't work, he/she's got to disable/re-enable each one to figure out if it's an add-on making the browser slow.

Why does he need to do that? Is somebody making him use 3.6.3? If it works in 3.6.2 then use 3.6.2. Like I said, what's 3.6.3 have that 3.6.2 doesn't?

Alot of Add-Ons that use lots of Javascript, Firefox can be slow with. I don't know why, it's just something I heard off a Sound Forge forum.

The point is, if the OP states he is too lazy to install and uninstall, is he going to one by one trace down all the AddOns? It's unrealistic. The potential for remote execution is probably pretty close to nil if he's running NoScript and/or Sandboxie.

But if you can get the OP to state how many AddOns he has and can get him to systematically remove them one at a time and reinstall them, if the total is at least a dozen I'll Rep you!!

I like it very much. I should have put a link to v. 5 Alpha. It's even better:
I've been running it since April 12 with no problems.
You can download it from their forum

SRWare.net • Thema anzeigen - New Iron-Release: 5.0.326 Alpha for Windows

Thanks dude, it is really amazing and fast!!!

Even though I've only been using it a couple of weeks I keep checking the forum hoping they have another update. Only things I have in Firefox better than Iron is multiple login, as I mentioned, a way to sync passwords/bookmarks without using google server, and the ClickCutter AutoCopy is a bit better than the AutoCopy for Iron. But giving that up for the speed is worth it!! Eventually all that stuff will be working in Iron is my guess. No reason to remove FF. When I need one of those features I'll just run it.

But yeah, I really like this browser. :)
