Remove hyperlinks from windows vista mail messages

Hi
Please would someone tell me how I can prevent the editor in Windows Vista mail from automatically converting into a hyperlink a text string which it recognises as being consistent with an email address? Or, if it has entered such text as a hyperlink, how can I then edit it so as to remove the hyperlink but retain the text string?

For the avoidance of doubt, I do NOT wish to disable HTML formatting of emails generally, which would otherwise be an obvious solution.

Thanks.

Easy, just move cursor to link. Then right click and hit remove hyperlink, while cursor is still on the link.

Not so easy, but ultimately successful.

I right-click on the hyperlink, and a menu pops up, absent from which is any direct reference to an option to remove the hyperlink.

Menu options presented are (without quotes):
"Cut", "Copy", "Paste", "Select All", "Font...", "Paragraph...", "Increase Indent", "Decrease Indent", and "Properties".
The first two of these (cut and copy) are greyed out unless the entire hyperlinked text is selected. The third (paste) is greyed out unless there is something in the clipboard. This all seems irrelevant to my problem.
The one menu option that looks hopeful is "Properties". If I select this option a dialog box appears described as "hyperlink information" which contains two fields: a drop-down list described as "type", currently defaulting to "mailto:", and a URL field which contains a replication of the email address appended to the string "mailto:"

I find that I can delete the hyperlink by deleting the entry in the URL field of this dialog box.

Hardly intuitive, but problem solved.

Thanks.

Im on Windows 7, could be a bit different. Glad that it worked out, however.
