    Images Size while Browsing

I'm definitely a newbie with most thing tech but there's a problem I keep having while using Windows. I'm a photographer and have loads of images filed in many, many different folders.

Is there any way to apply a general setting to all those folder so I can see my images in the largest size available? I succesfully change the settings of one folder, but the one-by-one seems a looooong, painful journey.

Suggestions very welcome. This is freaking me out!

If they're all picture folders, it may be possible. Here's some information that and on other related topics that may prove useful. The one you want to focus on is the first one. I've never actually done the procedure, but from what I read (and I didn't read everything - mostly just scanned it to ensure it should be applicable) it should do the trick.

Here's how to change the default template for a folder: http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/70819-windows-explorer-folder-view-settings.html. Default behavior is to select the template based on the first type of file placed in the folder (it has to choose something). Vista sets the Explorer window view settings and folder type template according to what folder types are in the window. This will show you how to reset the Windows Explorer folder view settings, turn off Automatic Folder Type Discovery and increase the folder view cache to have Vista remember the view settings, folder type template, size, or position of a specific window for when it was last closed at the specific path location.

This does not work with the sub Save As, Open With, Open in New Tab (Internet Explorer), etc.... type dialog windows through the File
menu bar item though. These do not seem to be able to have their size or position remembered. For these, you can use the free program WinSizeMe http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2339650,00.asp to resize them and save those sizes and locations (I've changed the program from the one mentioned in the article because although it is a Vista article, the referenced 3rd party application there does not speciically speciify it is compatible with Vista whereas this one does)..

Here's another article on how to change the Windows Explorer columns and sort order in Vista:
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/108665-column-customize.html. This will show you how to add, remove, move, change the width, and change the sort order of Windows Explorer columns to how you want them.

Here's another article on how to change the default folder view in Vista (but it claims it isn't a perfect solution and may revert to prior behavior so it's not as good as the two prior links provided:
    http://news.cnet.com/8301-13880_3-10019957-68.html.
I hope this helps with your situation.

    Good luck!
