Spam Filter for Thunderbird

Hi, can anyone recommend a decent one for Thunderbird 3.1.6 please? I'm new to using Thunderbird and I seem to be getting loads of spam email.

I did downloadSPAMfighter, but when I clicked on it it wouldn't open! Just kept saying: The directory name is invalid

Yeah I tried that but I'm getting about 10 spam emails every day! I'm adding them to the spam folder but still keep getting them!!

I cannot give a suggestion, since I get no spam

I have a spam email account. If I ever have to give my addy on line, I give the spam addy. That is how you get spam, by giving out your addy, for the free vacation or for any other reason, if the entitiy is not known to you.

Lucky devil! I got infected about a year ago, and it appears that my email was sold! At first, I was getting up to 10 spam emails a day. Then it started to rise. It levelled off at about 300-400 pieces of spam a day. I put all of the Outlook settings up to max, and trained the filter well. Now I am back down to about 30 a day. That is fine!

The Outlook one worked well for me, so unfortunately cannot give recommendations. I have now changed my email address anyway. I had to be ultra careful, as there were all of these russian websites. There came in some sort of GAME or AMAZON advert, and I might just see something I liked, but I always had to be very careful because most of them were actually directing to very dodgy Russian websites! All sorts of dodgy! Have binned that account now. I used to receive about 3 copies of the AMAZON advert, but only one was the real one, and the other two were directing to .ru addresses!

I had trouble with Thunderbird & my wife's POP GMail account it seemed to be taking forever to train Thunderbirds spam filter.

The very fast solution open my browser log into my wife's GMail account & set the spam filters on the server

Oh sudden thought, don't mark email notifications from Vista forums as spam with your email provider (Pleeeease!)

You can disable email notifications from Vista forums here in your user control panel.

Admins go to a great deal of trouble to provide the email notification service & it causes a lot of problems when the likes of Gmail gets it marked as spam as it starts to automatically marking other members email notifications as spam who are using the likes of Gmail

Sorry should have thought of this in my first post :o
