Hey guys, I'm all out of ideas here and was hoping you might be able to help me.
A friend recently changed email provider from Orange to BT but wanted to keep her Orange email. (.fsworld.co.uk) since the ISP change we have been unable to connect to the smpt server from outlook on her computer or windows mail on mine. The incoming mail server works fine. I have other email accounts on both computers which work fine with both programs.The settings i am using are as follows.
Pop3 server
In coming mail - pop.orangehome.co.uk
Out going -smtp.orangehome.co.uk
Incoming mail server user name - *******.fsworld.co.uk
outgoing mail server - requires authentication is checked and the details are the same as incoming.
I am not using secure password authentication.
ports - outgoing 25, incoming -110
Now, If i use outgoing port 25 then it simply won't connect and i get the usual
"The connection to the server has failed. Subject 'testoooo', Account: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.orangehome.co.uk', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10060, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E"
However, if i use port 587 then i get the box pop up asking me to "please verify that the user name and password are correct for your mail server" I enter the correct details but the box just keeps popping back up.
I am starting to think that when my friend transferred from orange they killed the email account as well?
