Im pretty sure of the problem here. Your ISP will not let you send via the other email to avoid spam. What you have to do is set up SMPT per your ISP instructions, per their website, and have your return addess show whatever you want.

What I know is that I had the same problem, I could not send. After researching, I found that I could send if I used the SMPT of my Internet Provider and used the return address of my own email service. The best way to find out if you have the same problem is to try.

You have to put the name and password of your email account.
If the email provider was the former ISP, that account would no longer be available, however.
Not being in the UK, I am not familiar with the email and/or ISP that you have.

If the email provider is also the ISP, the old ISP is no loger available to you.
If the email provider is different from the ISP, then the Pasword and ID is for the email provider. You would use the setrtings for the ISP to set up SMPT.

Here's another possibility. Here's a listing of e-mail server addresses for each provider which can be used with any ISP: ::. Kitz - DNS and mail servers .::. They differ from the ones you are currently using for Orange. Perhaps if you try these settings instead you will meet with success.

If they stilll don't work, try the SMTP settings for AOL and see if that makes any difference. If not, try the details for your AOL account in the SMTP authentication information. If that works, you would then probably need to change the return address in Outlook and Windows Mail to the Orange address so it would appear correctly and replies would go to the correct account.

As Niemiro says, make sure you are using the correct email-address and that you have the proper settings. I suspect you're OK there as you're getting your incoming e-mail OK, but SMTP could operate differently. Try both with and without authentication and if with, keep the information consisitent with the servername you are using (which may make them different). Keep secure authentication off.

Please keep in mind that i am currently at home trying to solve the problem and my ISP is AOl.
I shall say as far as i have got using different scenarios.

Using smtp.orangehome.co.uk and xxxxx@xxxxx.fsworld.co.uk as the log in with port 25 i cannot connect at all.

Using the above settings with port 587 I get the password box pop up so i enter xxxxx@xxxxx.fsworld.co.uk as the user name and i enter my password which works fine on sites like mail2web. The box just keeps popping back up as if i am entering the details wrong. I have also tried *****.fsworld.co.uk and *****.fsworld.co.uk@fs as the user names.

If i try to use my ISP SMPT server smtp.uk.aol.com with port 25 and ****@aol.com with my aol password as my outgoing mail server details i get this error message.
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'pam@odgers.fsworld.co.uk'. Subject 'asdasd', Account: 'pop.orangehome.co.uk', Server: 'smtp.uk.aol.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '553 5.7.1 <pam@odgers.fsworld.co.uk>: Sender address rejected: not owned by user *****@aol.com', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 553, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

If i try the same details as above with port 587 the result is the same. Checking "this server requires a secure connection (SSL)" makes no difference.
