I am not sure where to post this question, but I have a problem today that I did not have last week.
When I type in something, we'll say, 'hummingbirds in Oregon', I then have the opportunity to click on "images", (in Google), which is wonderful. However, last week I could click on any individual image and it would take me directly to the website or web page that the image belongs to. I hope that makes sense.
This is new. Today I do exactly the same thing, but instead of it taking me anywhere, I wind back up in a completely blank Google search page. No matter how many times I have tried it today, same thing each time.
Did I accidentally set something wrong somewhere? I didn't mean to.

Please help me if you can, I'm stuck! Thank you in advance.

Thank you for replying to my problem, and thank you for your most excellent advise on having a virus program--and using it, of course.

I actually do have that free program you mentioned and I use it often. I also have a free Norton program that I get from my internet Co., and I use it too.

I do not have the Malwarebytes, but I sure will download it, as you seem to suggest there may be a virus and/or malware.

I did post another question in a different area, but perhaps you might know the answer, so what I asked was, do you know how to open a webpage maximized? If you count it altogether, I have probably spent hours over the years, clicking on the little boxes icon which is the minimize/maximize spot, in the upper right hand corner between the -- and the X. I just wondered if there is a setting somewhere that I could ALWAYS open every page maximized instead of having to do it manually so to speak.

Regardless of that, I do thank you for the welcome and your reply and wonderful advise.

Oh for heavens sake, I forgot to tell you that the problem is solved! I am sorry. I told you the first two times I replied to your post. Oh my goodness!

Anyway, today I can click away at the pictures again and get sent straight to the website that posted it, as should be.

But, I also noticed today that Google has a new icon and I am just attributing the mishap to the changeover. Whatever the reason, it is working just fine again. Yeah!

Hi again kesume!
I finally got a few extra minutes to try that Malwarebytes program and as soon as I click to download it, I am sent to a page that says, "Warning!" "This site has a poor reputation." So, what to do? I don't know if my Norton takes care of Malware or not.
Please advise.

First I mentioned that I did indeed do full scan on both Norton and Microsoft Security Essentials, probably the day after you posted this. MSE was fine, and Norton found and fixed a couple of tracking cookies, but Norton ALWAYS says that. I wonder that perhaps if they think I think there are always problems, that I will always then continue to use their program, perhaps even in the future when it may not be free with my internet service.
Next, I was on the page you show above, and it was WOT that warned me that it was a dangerous site. Generally WOT has been good to me. But, I tried again and clicked on that little yellow bar that asks to download file, and got Malwarebytes installed on my computer. I actually had it installed a long time ago, and got rid of it when I was hurting for space. Anyway, somewhere in the download, this popped up:
Fixed Issues:
Fixed issue with the scheduler not performing realtime updates.
Fixed multiple issue with product crashing during a scan.
Fixed issue with log not saving on certain command line scans.
Fixed various issues with Finnish, Italian and Norwegian languages.
Fixed formatting and misspelling issues in product help file.
The database was successfully updated from version 5363 to version 6415
And then I ran the complete scan and these are results of that:

You have Microsoft Security Essentials? Is it up to date? If not update it please.

My opinion Grammy is, you do not need both MSE & Norton on your system.
I took Norton off all my computers & replaced with MSE, I have had no problem.
Of course, it is your choice, this is merely a personal opinion.
If you decide to get rid of Norton & make your computer a little quicker then please clivk on the link to download the Norton Removal Tool, use this to uninstall Norton.
On the opening web page, options in red, re: product, choose No.4 (four).
If you decide yes, keep nothing of Norton on your computer, they like to leave a little when they are uninstalled, so I have read!
Download and run the Norton Removal Tool to uninstall your Norton product | Norton Support
Let me know what you are doing with your norton etc., please.

Good morning kesume! You are getting to be like a friend I look forward to hearing from everyday!
I do keep Norton and MSE both updated and have no problems with either.
Yes, comcast offers free norton w/their high speed internet. So, since Norton always seems to find cookies to get rid of, it makes me wonder if it's true, and MSE just doesn't find them, or...like I said in one of my posts, could be they just want to keep me staying w/them. Regardless, I probably should not have mentioned that I took Malwarebytes off at one point to save space. It was and still is (hanging head a little here) my hundreds of pictures that makes my space low or limited and I know I need to get an external hard drive at the very least, and need to get them on CD asap, it's just that 's' in there that I have troubles with--the soon part. Anyway, I'm not really having any space or slow problems anymore, and was so long ago that I don't really remember why I thought I should get rid of Malwarebytes to begin with, but I did at one point uninstall it. Maybe the Comcast guy told me I didn't need it. Anyway, all three programs seem to be working well together and other than finding some of that sweet 'soon', all is well, pc wise.
I glanced at that site you sent on print screen and did what I undoubtedly did b4 when I researched it, and shook my head and said I don't need it that bad! I don't even know where paint is on this, or much care..lol. Looks way too confusing as I've lived w/o it for nine loooong years of dialup and a couple three or four of high speed and seems there is always something important I should be doing on here, like getting all those pics off b4 I lose them all again. Yes, I've already done that two or three times too...computer crashing used to be quite a hobby of mine. Now that I have insurance, nothing ever happens!
Anyway, as always, thank you for your expert and most excellent advise and I'm just sure I'll be back soon with some trouble or other.
