Mail & Calander? If you open WindowsMail go to Tools >> Right Click >> A small dropdown appears.
IF Views Bar is checked, Uncheck it.
Calander small icon will appear on your Main Blue Bar. To the Right of Send/Receive.Click calander opens
Well it did on mine.

No dice. This link has not worked from day one. Is there a way to see where the icon is pointing?? When I put the cursor on it ..it highlights but clicking does nothing.

Hi,
Sorry none of that worked!
I'll have a better look in a while @ my setup, to try & see how it's working but not yours?
Are all the other options in the tool bar OK? It's just calander ?
Have you upgraded anything lately?
I'll keep searching for you.

A window opens please click on 'Click to open windows Calendar.

1. Try this tutorial, no guarantees ....
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/187956-windows-calendar-enable-disable.html

2. This may not be what you want to hear.....
Windows Mail has long since been dropped by Microsoft, about 3 years or more ago.
Microsoft introduced ta replacement called Windows Live Mail ( WLM ).
1. It is free
2. It co-exists with Windows Mail ( WM ).
3. You can still use BOTH WM and WLM. No need to give up one.
4. Upon installing WLM, the system will automatically " tranfer " all data frm WM to WLM, such as contact list, messages , settings etc. You don't need to do any import/export.
5. You do need to name one as your default.

If interested, here are 2 download links. One for 2009 version and one for 2011 version :

WLM 2011 version :
Windows Live Mail 2011

WLM 2009 version :
Download Windows Live Mail 2009 - FileHippo.com

Personal remark :
I had 2011 WLM for a few months and finally switch it back to 2009 version. It is because 2009 ver has the same layout as in Windows Mail. There is nothing to adjust to or to learn.
Whereas, in WLM 2011, the layout is very much different. I found it annoying and sometimes infuriating having to look all over the toolbar or menu bar trying to find the options I normally would find in Windows Mail.
I'd stick with WLM 2009 version.

Thanks T-4-2...I have the calander enabled and in fact use it. I just cannot access it thru the Calander icon in the mail tool bar. I've used WLM and did not like it.
I think this may be a vista home premium feature issue. I think perhaps home premium will not allow this to happen. As I said not a big deal...Thanks Again.

If you look over to the left side of my post, you'll see that I use Home Premium too.
I have no issue with the Calendar button in WM.
Just wonder, are your service pack levels up to date ? Your profile does not indicate any.

Question : does this issue happen only recently ? How long ago ?

My Computer

How did you progress with the small Help drop down & clickingon Open Calender, any good?
Like t-4-2 it works in both Home Basic & Premium OK!
Something is just not right with theicon connection to opening the calendar!
But havn't quite found it yet.

My apology that I missed the part that said the issue happened since day one.

Suggestions only :

1. Do a system file check. It is to look for corrupted files and reapir them if any found, if possible.

Start button > search box type cmd > look up, RIGHT click on cmd.exe > click Run As Administrator > in that black and white cmd window, type at the flashing prompt sfc /scannow > press ENTER key.
Note : there is a Space between "sfc" and "/".
Sit back and wait. It will take some time.
When done, exit cmd window.
Reboot ( re-start your computer )

2. Do a dick check. It is to look for bad sectors and such.

Start button > search box, type cmd > look up, right click on cmd.exe > Run As Administrator >
in the black and white window, at the flasing prompt, type chkdsk /f/r > press Enter key.
Note : there is a space between " chkdsk " and " / "

The screen will say something like can't do it now but do you want to run it on restart. Click " y " as in yes > press Enter > Exit cmd window.

Restart your computer, and disk check will start. It will take quite some time. DO NOT shut down the machine. Just wait.

My Computer

I run sfc and ckdisk as part of my regular weekly maint. In fact I run sfc several times over since I'm told it fixes only one issue each time it's run.Well I can live without this with no problem...Thanks..If something new comes up let me know.
