Advice on determinning which browser....

Hi,
Just updated to the newer explorer9 browser but found it to be less than desirable. But also have Google Chrome system and though I can't be sure , I now suspect that the Google browser may have taken over as my default browser. Also, I would love to have my earlier explorer8 version back if possible. I have the Windows Vista Home Basic package. So how do I determine which browser is currently being used and how can I switch back to my older browser version? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

You have one simple question and the other a bit more difficult
Go to search by the go button.
Type the word default
Click on default programs.
You can set your default there.
When you want to use the other, you just click on its icon.

Now the other question how to get IE 8 back.
How do I install or uninstall Internet Explorer 9?
If it were my computer, I would try a system restore to go back to IE8. It would be simple, quick and easy to do.

or
I would try another broswer. Firefox is used by many and has some great features

I agree with Rich the differance between IE8 and IE9 are not that great so stay with IE8 you will have less problems..

Another way to open default browser is just open a command prompt and type
"start www.microsoft.com" (without the quotes)

See which browser comes up.
