I have Win Mail set to not automatically open pics in emails and there used to be a bar across the top (in the preview section) to open the pics if I chose to. There was also the little paperclip if there was an attachment. Now, all of a sudden, I have to click on the message to open it, then the bar and/or paperclip appears. It's an extra step that used to take one click, now two and more time. Anyone know what happened? I installed the windows update a day or two ago and also installed process lasso. I installed lasso after the windows update, so do not want to do a restore pt because lasso as a give away that could only be installed on that day. If I do a restore prior to installation, that will do away with that program, right? I installed both the latest win update plus IE 9.

Using Windows Live mail, myself, I cannot be more specific. I think that at the top under view there may be away to bring back the bar.

Thanks. I looked around the forum and a little more and it seems to be an IE 9 issue. I don't use IE if at all possible, but downloaded 9 thinking it might have fixed some security issues in 8. Guess I'll go back to IE 8.
UPDATE: reverted back to IE8 and the bar and paperclip are all back in preview window.

The paperclip has been move as MS has "cleaned" things up. But its all still there
And Yes ie9 fixed bugs in ie8...

Actually, the thread u mentioned never actually solved the guys problem. He is using Win Mail, not window mail live and now he has to click twice to view pics in the email or any attachment there might be. The solution is to revert back to IE8, there is no other option in Win Mail to get the paperclip back or the bar at the top of the preview pane to see any pics in the message if you have them blocked.

Thats saddly not a sound solution to be honest.
The other guy was using mail, but communication between us was hard, asnd alot got garbled.
If you have the names/sender in your safe list or contacts the images will show automatically. Its MS way of protecting you from yourself... Incase your brain dead.
Theres also a key command to do it too, which is in that other thread.
Love it or hate it, MS switched it out and now were stuck with it.
I'd sduggest trying Thunderbird from Mozzilla... Always been better than Win Mail.

Make sure you have not set READ in Plain Text.
Open WM > Tools > Options > Read > uncheck " Read all messages in Plain Text " > OK
