Live mail contacts

Hi all. I need some Assistance please. I have win7 and live mail I used to have my own contacts from my old outlook express loaded in live mail. When I logged in to my hotmail email in live mail it replaced all my contacts with the hotmail contacts. How can I get my old contacts please

Thank you sir for your quick reply. That link I know what is inside it and that is the method that I used to switch fro OE to WLM but my problem is different. I had a fax on my PC that I wanted to send as email but when I wanted to send the email I got a pop up window prompting me to log in to live. I thought that I'm logging to hotmail live but in fact it logged in to WLM and once I noticed that it was logged in to WLM I checked it and saw that my emails are still the same in WLM but my contacts from OE have changed to my hotmail contacts and I really need the OE contacts can anyone help please

What back-up installations do you have?

Well I have switched from OE to WLM about a year ago and as you know during one year you can get many other added contacts which means even if I have an old contact backup file it will not be up to date.
As I said I had everything running good with WLM but I wanted to send a fax as an email from my PC and when I chose send email I got a pop up message asking me to enter user and password. when I did this it logged me in to my hotmail account and my contacts were lost and I can see only my hotmail contacts

Hi again,

Do you have a recent backup of your PC where you can "Selectively" recover the data?

If not, it sounds as though you will have to manually input the data again, if you know it? Sorry.

Do you know which file to recover & will you be able to recover it?

I don't know which file you have that includes some contacts!

I have been trying to think of where some files/folders or records could be within your system that you could tap into, that may at least hold some contacts etc?

You may have already thought of this and checked, so excuse me if that is so?

Checking my own system of hotmail WL, WLM, looking in folders, or more specifically 'Storage Folders', listed are the usual delete, draft, outbox, Sent.

Also listed are my various other mail counterparts with the same types of folders!

I thought that it may be worth checking these to see if you could retrieve some of the lost contacts/addresses?

Start button >Typed Storage Folders> Enter. Appeared top of column. Open/check your folders.

Thought it was worth a try?

You are quite correct I have searched the files and folders but unfortunately I was not able to locate the rite file to play with. I even searched for contacts but couldnt find what I need
