Advice on determining which browser....

Hi,
Just updated to the newer explorer9 browser but found it to be less than desirable. But also have Google Chrome system and though I can't be sure , I now suspect that the Google browser may have taken over as my default browser. Also, I would love to have my earlier explorer8 version back if possible. I have the Windows Vista Home Basic package. So how do I determine which browser is currently being used and how can I switch back to my older browser version? Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

For the default browser. Go to search, by the start button. Type default. In default look at which browser is actually set for default
