Red Email Notices

I am using Windows Mail in a Vista OS. There are two people I get email messages from and occasionallly when they are received the notice is red with a security symbol in front. In the one I got today, the message box for the email says, "Message cannot be found." Why does this happen?

I am very satisfied with security that I am using. I receive hundreds of emails from a variety of people and with only two of them has this situation occasionally occurred. The symbol in front of the email notice message seems to be a MS symbol and not relaated to my ESET security. I want to know why the 'red' email notice occurs. Is the email contaminated in some way?

Give us a screenshot of the " red e-mail "plus whatever message notice included. Please copy/paste the notice verbatim.

Hi t-4-2
I am not familiar with what you are asking me to do. I looked at the download 'Screenshots and Files' and I was still befuddled. I was visiting my son yesterday and asked him how to do it. He showed me but I still cannot do it. The first thing he did was to click on the 'Print Screen' and he got a window with the screenshot. When I do so nothing happens. My son is now out of town and I cannot ask him for more help.

Hello Bob

Try this:

1. Click Start...
2. Click all programs...
3. Click on accessories...
4. Scan down and find snipping tool...
5. Drag your snipping tool to the tool bar at the bottom of your screen.
6. Find what you want and then click on your snipping tool and make a screen shot and save it to your documents, then you can upload your sreen shot.

Hope this helps...

There is another way to capture screenshot.
But, let's start with Print Screen, since you asked.

1. Open the image that you want to capture. In your case, it is the Red Email Notices.
2. Press Alt key and Hold, press Print Screen key.( Nothing will seem to happen at this point. That's ok ).
3. Start button > in the search box, type paint > press Enter key.
4. Rest your cursor inside the Paint window > press Ctrl key and Hold > press V key.
You screenshot shows up in the Paint window. Yes ?
5. Click the blue colour button near the top left
6. Click Save To > decide where you want to save it to. I would use Desktop since you won't be keeping it for long.

Now follow the tutorial, starting at step #2, about how to post the screenshot to this forum.
If you still have problem following the tutorial, please post back.

The other option for screencapturing is the Snipping Tool.
http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/148532-how-use-snipping-tool-vista.html

Edit :
How to call up Snipping Tool :
Start button > search box, type snipping tool > press Enter.

Hello

I was wondering, the emails you get could they be a set priority, if you are using IE look at the top of the page when you email someone there is a blue arrow if you click that it gives you some options on how you want it sent to who ever you are sending it to, could this be possible. Look at your own email and see if this could be it.

I am curious would you let me know after you have checked it out thank you. If you don't get what I am talking about I will send you a screenshot.

I completed t-4-2's instructions to step 5. I did not know what the 'blue button' was at the top left of screen. I guessed and tried to save to Desktop but was stymied.

Americancritic
I am using Windows Mail and I see no 'blue arrow' at the top of the page.

I have sent and received thousands of emails over the years and this 'red email notice' is a rare event.

I was also able to follow your instructions to step 6 and I saved the document to Pictures ( I could not save to the Desktop). But I am unable to copy the document from Pictures to the Vista Forum email.

Bob S,
Looks like you need a simplified method from the tutorial I gave you.....

1. Save your screenshot to either the Desktop or to your Pictures folder as you did.
2. Come back here and click Reply.
3. On the Reply to Thread window, look up. See the " paper clip " icon ?
4. Click it
5. Click Browse > navigate to the screenshot location > click it > click Open
6. Click Upload
7. Come back to Reply to Thread window, click the " paper clip " again, click the image icon at the drop-down box.
That's it. Screenshot is posted.

**That is the best I can do for you. Refer back to the tutorial and read it over and over again.

I hope this is it!

I think the reason is in your OTHER e-mial.

Mail Delivery Subsystem - returned mail : see transcript for details.
That one came to you at the same date. Must be related to the one above it.

Open it. What does it say ?
It might contains some confidential info, but it should tell you what is the problem.

No it is not the email above it. I was attempting to get an answer about 'red notice' from MS and that email was a response from them. I got fed up with the red tape I had to go through to get an answer from them and I came to the more reliable 'Vista Forum'.

No. I am talking about the one with the header.....

What does that one say ? What transcript details ? Is it relevant ?

The priority button is set at 'normal'. I never touch that button. I guess I do not appreciate the significance of the priority button.

No the email below is telling me that one of the people I sent an email to is not at the address I used. The Person is not Grant MacDonald. It is unrelated to the problem.
