Internet Explorer download function

Hi,
Downloading programmes etc with Firefox provides a choice of Open or Save. However Internet Explorer 9 does not provide any option, just proceeds to download.
Is there a way to configure IE9 to provide such an option please,

When/after you clicked downoad, did you not see something like this at the bottom of the screen ?

No, I did not see it, so tried again and lo there it was.
My Problem: Brain ? eyesight ? et al

You are welcome.

Just to remind you..... click the pointer next to Save will give you Save As option.
